Get Involved
The Museum of American Heritage was incorporated in 1985 by Frank Livermore as a venue to preserve and showcase technological innovations from 1750-1950. MOAH is a private museum that operates solely through the contributions of individuals and corporations. We depend on the generosity of friends like you to help us create exhibits, programs and events that showcase these important innovations.
There are a number of ways that you can help support MOAH:
Artifact Donations
Thank you for your interest in donating to MOAH's collection. Collectors and donors are the reason our collection is able to thrive and grow. We are able to accept only those items that fit within our key collection focus, which is mechanical and electrical inventions from 1750 to 1950.
Any items being donated must first be approved by representatives from our collections committee.
If you think you may have an artifact that we might be interested in, the best way to send us an inquiry is by email. You can email us at ADMIN@MOAH.ORG and send a photo and a brief description of the item. We will then forward it to our warehouse crew and assess if this is an item we can accept.
If you don’t have email, please feel free to call us at 650.321.1004 and we can forward your inquiry to the MOAH Collection Committee.
Please be advised that any item accepted for donation becomes the property of the Museum. Should your artifact be accepted for donation, we will provide a receipt for your records. Due to IRS regulations, we do not provide appraised values for any artifacts that are donated.
Thank you for your interest in our collections.
