Prepare students to pass the Technican Class FCC amateur radio license test and to understand and operate an amateur radio station.
Class description
Class content includes: Introduction to amateur radio, Operating an amateur radio station,
Basic electronics, Antennas, & antenna theory, Operating demonstrations, Selecting your equipment,
Circuits safety, Common technical problems, FCC regulations,
Preparing for the test (Practice exam)
When you complete this class, you will know a little about the heritage of
ham radio, and how to communicate with other hams all over the Bay Area
using a radio relay station (repeater). You will also be familiar with the
terms (jargon) used in amateur radio, as well as proper operating
procedures.

Registration must be completed 3 weeks prior to start of class.
